Pop of Colour

For a colour-phobe like me, florescent eyeshadows and glitter eyeliners are not my cup of tea BUT I've recently been adding a touch a colour in to my daily makeup and I have to say, I'm really enjoying it!

Here's two of my looks from this week:

BLUE EYESHADOW with pink lips:

Yes it's true, I used a bright blue eyeshadow from the Seventeen Midnight Jewel Heist Palette. I simply followed the line of my black eyeliner and created a second flick, to add a comfortable pop of colour. 

I went all out and chose an electric pink lip, using the Rimmel Colour Rush Balm, in the shade I Want Candy. 

I wore this look during the day and actually (and surprisingly) felt very comfortable doing so! To tone the look down, I used an iridescent light gold eyeshadow over my eyelids and didn't go too crazy with blusher or bronzer.

PURPLE EYELINER with nude lips:

I used Bourjois Clubbing Waterproof Eyeliner, in the shade Purple Night, in my waterline and smudged along my lower lash line. 

As this was a big step for me, I opted for a nude lip by Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in the shade Liar. 

As you can see, from afar this is actually rather subtle. I absolutely loved wearing this look and will definitely wear it more often. For those a little more adventurous, you can also use the eyeliner as a lipliner!

If these looks are still a little too cray cray for you, simply adding colour to the cheeks or lips can really brighten up a look and spruce up a bog standard makeup routine.
